My apologies - the letterbox was such a hit I didn't make it around everyone before they read their letters! We will continue to do it every Friday afternoon.

Our fun in the Wet Grass...
Purerehua reading group read Wet Grass today. The boy in the book, Ned, said he did NOT like wet grass. We went just outside the gate and had some fun in the wet grass. We weren't like Ned, we loved it!
"It was soft and it was long" - Mason
"It feels like icy rain" - Lucy-Ann
"It was freezing cold, slippery and wet" - Erastus
"It got my feet soaking wet" - Olivia
"The rain doesn't care if it makes the grass wet!" - Max
"It was very, very wet and my shoes were wet" - Clevon

Our picture book narratives...
"We all wrote picture books for the year 0s and year 1s" - Maia
"We enjoyed making the books. It was really hard work!" - Mia
"It took a lot of time" - Erastus
"We read them to everybody" - Gregory.
We have been working on these for over a week! We made a plan following the narrative genre, then we created a picture book. We read our books to the whole class. We wrote them for the little kids in Takutai and we can't wait to share with our audience. (A picture of all of us reading our picture book narrative will be on Seesaw this afternoon!)

We are the tuakana!
When we see Kakapo class, they are our tuakana - that means they are the more expert group - and we are the teina learning from them. This afternoon, we were the tuakana helping our teina class, Kakapo, to learn their mihimihi.
You will also notice we've had another change around in our classroom. We voted on how we wanted it to be, and this was the winning layout!

Persuasive writing
We are working on persuasive writing. Yesterday, we looked at things that we might like, or like to change at school. They are pretty reasonable! Now to convince Mr Webby...
Today we are teamed up with our talking partners - knee to knee, and eye to eye - to discuss how we are going to persuade Mr Webby to either change something in the school, or add something to the school. Watch this space to see how it goes when we present Mr Webby with the persuasive writing.
