Tuakana teina this afternoon
These are our tuakana from Kakapo class again - we went to them today. Our tuakana can help us with hard words, they've been at school longer than us and are experts, and they help us to remember what strategies to use.

Kakapo is our new tuakana class
We are really happy that Kakapo class will now be our tuakana class - we will see them on Tuesday afternoons to practise our reading with them. (Tuakana-teina support means the more expert learners act as a support in learning). Everyone had a good time, and Kakapo were really good at supporting us!

Pod maths
We are starting to work on maths as a pod. There are five different types of activities we will be working through and today we were working on maths with a buddy. There are lots of benefits to us working together, like we can collaborate with other children in other classes, we get even more teacher input, and it allows us more choices about how we want to learn. Please have a look at us working hard learning how to do maths with a buddy.
