Our school library

We visit the school library on Mondays.  Have you ever wondered what we do?

When we arrive at the library, we sit down on the mat then we return our books.  Next, we choose a book then get it issued.  The library gives us a brain boost, it makes us smarter and we get to choose our own books.  Choosing our own books is fun because our teacher chooses the books we read during literacy.  The trick to choosing a book that we can read by ourselves is to read the first three sentences; if we make one or two mistakes, we will be able to manage it by ourselves.

Whaea Pip thinks we are a pretty amazing bunch - look at us devouring our books!  You will have heard teachers talk about building reading mileage, which happens when we do lots of reading.  Our mileage always gets a big boost on Mondays!

Note from Whaea Pip: the printer at school wasn't working today so there is no homework sheet.  Please ask your lovely tamariki to read a book and spend some time on Mathletics tonight.
